Tea for Two or One

ladies who do tea

After a hard day of home staging, or selling real estate or counting up the green stuff - what could be more relaxing than a nice cup of tea? OK, that was a rhetorical question and I'm not really expecting you to answer or maybe I'm hoping you won't. With a new teashop opening up in the Greater Brainerd Lakes area, I thought maybe someone would like a tea making lesson. Our local teashop owner suggests that the trick is in the making.  She should know.

  • Always use cold tap water and boil water on the stove instead of using the microwave to heat the water
  • Timing, temperature and measurements are the key ingredients for a good cup of tea
  • Learn to read and follow the instructions on the package
  • Never use boiling water on green tea or white tea as the leaves are processed differently than black tea and are of a more delicate nature
  • Do not let the tea steep, or soak in the water for too long as it will get bitter
  • Make sure to use an infuser or filter large enough for the tea leaves to expand in order to enjoy the full benefit and flavor of the tea.

Wow, I suppose those tea bags of Constant Comment I use are out!

Oh well, I'm off to Carribou for a cup of coffee , care to join me?

Hi Kathleen - Wow! That sounds like a lot of work (lol).  As I write this, I am having my AM coffee.  Much easier to make than that cup of tea.  Enjoy your tea/coffee!
