We had the American Veterans Traveling Tribute stop in our area this summer. Many of my friends fought in the Vietnam Was. I went to college with even more veterans who were back home and getting their education on the G.I. Bill after their service tours were over. Some of my friends did not make it back and others who did were drastically altered by their experiences in Vietnam.
Because this was was a big part of my growing up years the Vietnam Wall is very special to me. The traveling memorial is a small version of the wall, but at
AVTT travels the USA in order to provide a forum for communities to come together to HONOR-RESPECT-REMEMBER all who have sacrificed their lives for our country's freedom. By doing this we also honor all Veterans and those serving today. Because they know they will never be forgotten. We must always separate the War from the Warrior and be never failing in our support for our Men and Women of the Armed Forces.

Kathleen, it is such a shame that not enough of our nation even thanks about the veterans.
Danny - Well then we just can not let them forget - not our children, not our grandchildren, friends & neighbors.
And we need to do everything to honor and remember those who fought & FIGHT - so we can live free.
Kathleen - thanks for sharing, I will be looking for this but so far it isn't scheduled for anywhere close to my area. I have tried visiting the wall in D.C. a couple of times but couldn't make myself get close to it. I believe I am ready now.
Mike - Sometimes you do need some distance and time - the link to their site is on my blog and they will keep updating their up coming schedule.
