Life Lessons ~ Part 5

                                 I think I Can

I hope these life lesson quotes are helping you, as much as they have helped me. We already know all this, but it is good to hear others say what we have been thinking.  It also helps to know that we are not alone in our experiences and times of testing and trials.  No matter what your chosen profession, there will be times when you experience an off-day or it may be even longer. How do you react ? What is your plan of action?

"You're not obligated to win.  You're obligated to keep trying to do the best you can every day....Don't assume a door is closed; push on it.  Don't assume if it was closed yesterday that it is closed today.  It doesn't matter how many times you fall down, you get up."

~ Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund

Kathleen, that dog reminds me of one I lost last Spring.  She was part Corgie and would have enjoyed licking out a peanut butter jar!  I love your life's lessons.  If we have been paying attention we have learned.  Sometimes we need more than one to get our attention.

Good advice Kathleen. Giving up never accomplishes anything except drowning yourself in self pity.

Terry - I have never owned a Corgi, but they are one of my someday dogs.  My girlfriend's  Corgi Cheer Bear used to "exercise" her horse. After about one run they were going in different directions.

Rod - Corgi's are small dogs with big hearts and they just keep on trying and always seem to be very happy.

Plus they are cute!!!

Penny - You are very welcome - Corgi's are so very cute and inspiring - they are champion tryers.

Kathleen, Corgis are cute and do have big hearts and probably would do well on a farm where they can exercise.  But beware, they are strong willed, stubborn, and ankle biters!  The "Queen" has several, most of which have been banned from interacting with guests because of their tendancy to "herd" and in the process "bite". :-)  Mine was mixed with Sheltie so she was a little more mellow.  But they are neat dogs.

Kathleen, This is another of those which are difficult for me. I'm often brought low by times when I don't succeed. (I'm trying to avoid the use of the word failed here.) Part of my problem is being the first born of a first born. We tend to think in terms of perfection as opposed to giving our all and being satisfied with that. Although I will say I am getting better. But you know you have a problem when you break into a sweat when you think that there is a possibility that even after all your studying there is the possibility that you might not pass the eye test at the optometrists office. :)

Terry - We had a Sheltie and he herded the children.

Yvonne- Over achievers have trouble in setting limits to their achievements as my husband says "You make yourself miserable" and I am the baby of the family. Forget  passing the eye exams - they are rigged and those trick questions would trip up anyone.

i.e. "Which one is better lens number one or  lens number two?"  Come on  - they look the same!!
