President Obama has swiftly moved the United States of America from our traditional American model of entrepreneurship and private initiative to something that quite closely resembles a European model of regulation and government control. He has the uncanny ability to get Congressional Democrats to give him things that will undermine their own power – they have 94% of the time in the House and 91% of the time in the Senate.
His Economic Stimulus bill that was in fact a pay back for the liberal interest base and future vote buying cost those people who actually pay taxes $787 billion dollars and more hands are coming out from under the covers to get treats. Do you realize that this moved along at a pace that no member of Congress even read the bill in its entirety before they voted on it? Just hand them a rubber stamp and an inkpad.
One of his big campaign pledges was to end earmarks, but the appropriations bill he signed had 8000 earmarks in it. That showed great progress in keeping promises.
The EPA has now ruled that greenhouse gases are a threat to public health, opening the door to strict regulation of American life, not to mention that of cows, by the government.
President Obama has felt an obligation to apologize for America and her people by labeling our country as “arrogant, dismissive and derisive” in front of foreign audiences – that should make them like us better and respect us more
, don’t you think?
Here is what he thinks about those in small towns:
"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
As columnist Jackie Cushman puts it “if we’re not careful, instead of change we can believe in, we’re going to have change in what we believe.

Gord - we are not just real estate salespeople: we are tax payers, voters, Moms, volunteers, teachers. If we can not "talk" about this , then who can? My hands are clean.
Kathleen, good response! I don't feel as safe or as proud as I did before the election and I know I am not alone in this!
Kathleen, What he has done in 100 days is damage this country more than any enemy has been able to do in 233 years

I think we all should be very worried right now. I believe a good investment at this pont in time would be in antacid companies.
Trey is funny! My concern is the debt load we are taking on. I have two young daughters. I have to think about there future. Will they be paying this back being taxed to death. I just can't believe that 5% can pay all that back. It may have been said with good intentions. But is that looking at reality. Have they done the math and see how this will be paid back. I'm not sure I haven't followed it closely enough.
Obamocrats are fast becoming the largest threat to our country, if we do not speak our minds here and in our daily lives we will only be able to blame ourselves.

And now with a Supreme Court Justice opening he will move the courts further than ever to the left.....just stay tuned for legislation form the bench.
We can hope that things will turn out for the best. He's the president and he is our chief executive and commander-in-chief. Agree or disagree, let's pray that if/when he stumbles, it's not going to be at such tremendous cost to us in ways that will hurt so deeply that we can't come out of the hole.
As they say, "God help us!"
Or better yet, "God bless America."
Pacita - can you imagine the impact if our President Obama got saved and was totally sold out for God? I pray that for him and his family.
"I have two young daughters. I have to think about there future. Will they be paying this back being taxed to death."
Not if we invest in education, public services and other infrastructure that allow them to be more productive than their parents, just as we are more productive than ours. Of course people who are struggling economically, like most realtors, are going to resent investing in the future. But it is the sacrifices of previous generations that allow us to live better lives than they had and we need to make sacrifices to invest for the next generation.
The problem isn't the cost of making the investments in public services. Its making sure they are the right investments. That we have been cutting spending on education ought to be the real concern. Because unless the next generation is better educated than we are, they aren't going to be able to pay our social security and invest for the next generation. We need to make sure that doesn't happen.
I'm extremely happy with what President Obama and Congress have done. It took guts to do something rather than standing around analyzing things. It's a different world, and as we discovered with the different type of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, if we don't adapt, we won't even be around to believe in anything, or to change what we believe in. We're in uncharted territory in a global economy, but we're making great progress.
Out here home sales have been up for nine consecutive months, and price have been stabilized for three consecutive months. Almost $8 billion in Federal Stimulus Bill money means that teachers have not been fired, police have not been fired, fire fighters have not been fired, parks have been able to remain open, libraries have been able to remain open. Shovel-ready projects are under way for the military as well as city, county, and state projects here in San Diego.
There's excitement in the air. Many things that move through the country start in Hawaii and on the West Coast, so I hope the excitement that is here reaches you up there in Minnesota soon.
Jim - As you noted Minnesota is a bit behind in catching the excitement of what has taken place. We also are more conservative in view points than California as a whole. Is it true that Californians will not be getting their tax refunds this year?
We lost teachers last year and will lose more this year with cuts. Our hospital is on a hiring freeze but our parks remain open (with reduced staff and activities).
I love my country AND my president!
I am grateful to this remarkable man, President Obama, for agreeing to help our beautiful country dig its way out of the mess we inherited from 8 ruinous years of Bush/Cheney.
Sarah - I love America and am very concerned in the direction our country is going under the direction of President Obama and his followers. Are we getting out of debt or deeper? Have we shown strength to our enemies or cowered before them? Are we not the greatest most privileged nation on earth, the most compassionate the most giving? Do we not still kill our unborn children and does not Obama support this great attrocity? In fact he would provide that for his own daughters (ie abort his grandchildren)should they find themselves burdened with an unwanted pregnancy. Am I grateful to him, why would I be?
